Thames Head Inn

Aptly named due to its close proximity to the Source of the River Thames, the Thames Head inn is another pub with a campsite behind.

When we booked it we had no idea that the source of the Thames was easily walkable, but it was a great surprise and we really enjoyed seeking it out. We also had a lovely time exploring the gorgeous Cirencester which was a ten minute drive from the pub.

The hospitality and also the food in the pub was fantastic. So much so that they were fully booked for the second night of our stay. They rang us up at our pitch on the second morning to say they had shuffled things around and found us a table.

For David the cherry on top of the cake was that you have to cross a train track to get to the source of the river.
